Kevin De Bruyne rescued a point for Manchester City against Liverpool in a four-goal thriller at Anfield.

It was a heavyweight tussle on Sunday afternoon but the shares were spoiled as the Belgian cancelled out Mohamed Salah’s wonder goal.

City were by far the better side in the first half, but could not make their dominance count.

And it was Liverpool that hit the front as Sadio Mane opened the scoring after the break.

Phil Foden got Pep Guardiola ‘s men back on level terms, before Salah netted a goal of the season contender.

De Bruyne made sure to spoil the party for the home side, however, as the midfielder grabbed a late equaliser.

Here are a few moments missed from the Super Sunday clash at Anfield.

Pep Guardiola’s outburst

Pep Guardiola was furious as City were denied a penalty in the first half as James Milner challenged Phil Foden.

The winger terrorised the veteran who deputised for Trent Alexander Arnold at right back.

Foden got in behind Milner on one occasion and looked as if he was going to get a shot on goal before he was brought down in the box.

The ref waved away City’s appeal for a penalty, but there was certainly contact and it seemed as if Milner got away with one.

Guardiola could be seen venting his frustration towards fourth official Mike Dean as the decision wasn’t even reviewed by VAR.

He was then absolutely livid in the second half as Milner escaped a second yellow card for a foul on Bernardo Silva.

Sadio Mane’s telling celebration

Liverpool didn’t get a sniff in the first half, but came alive after the break as Sadio Mane opened the scoring.

All the hard work was done by Mohamed Salah as he skipped by Joao Cancelo to play a brilliant ball through to his teammate who fired a low finish by Ederson.

And Mane’s celebration said it all as he went straight to his teammate to give him a hug.

There has been reports that the pair have not seen eye as eye due to their ‘greediness’, but that theory was squashed as they linked up perfectly to give Liverpool the lead.

Mohamed Salah sends contract plea

Salah would have thought he won the game for Liverpool with a goal of the season contender.

And it would have been worthy of winning any match as he went on a mazy run, skipping by countless players before unleashing a shot into the far corner. It was a worldy.

There is a lot noise surrounding his future as he has yet to agree on a new Liverpool contract.

But Salah is clearly ignoring it as he continues to show he is one of the best players in the world at the minute.

And his celebration might have had a hidden message behind it as he pointed to his ear following the amazing strike.
