Croatia balcony plunge Scot ‘fit to fly home’ days after waking from coma

A Scots woman who was in a coma after a horror balcony plunge is now fit to fly home as medics confirm she ‘will make a full recovery’.

Jennifer Walsh was given a ’50/50 chance of survival’ after she fell from a height in Dubrovnik, Croatia on October 2.

The 22-year-old suffered a bleed on the brain, two skull fractures, a punctured lung, broken collar bone, broken ribs and a fractured wrist.

Medics placed Jennifer, from Edinburgh, into a coma to perform brain surgery in a desperate bid to save her life.

Just four days ago a ‘confused’ Jennifer woke from the coma and can now string ‘a few sentences together’.

Doctors said the holidaymaker is now fit to fly home, reports Edinburgh Live.

A private air ambulance will take her back to Scotland and, upon arrival, she will receive further treatment at a hospital close to the family home.

Medics also said Jennifer will make a full recovery, according to her sister Sara.

Sara wrote in a public social media post: “Yesterday we got the news that Jen is fit to fly home to Scotland.

“This will be via private air ambulance, she will then get taken to a hospital close to us.

“Jennifer has been able to say a few sentences which is so amazing.

“At this time, she is still confused due to the trauma of the accident, which is normal.
