Antonio Cassano has launched another scathing attack on Manchester United great Cristiano Ronaldo.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner completed a sensational return to Old Trafford – from Juventus – on deadline day and fans were delighted at his homecoming.
During his first memorable spell in the Premier League – between 2003 and 2009 – Ronaldo emerged as one of the greatest players on the planet and kick-started a historic rivalry with Barcelona icon Lionel Messi.
Those two superstars have won the coveted Ballon d’Or 11 times between them.
However, while many observers view Ronaldo and Messi as two of the the best players in history, if not the best, Cassano sees things a little differently.
Indeed, responding to claims made by ‘super agent’ Jorge Mendes, the former Italy striker has argued that Ronaldo is not even in the top five.
Speaking during his guest appearance on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel Bobo TV, he said: “Enough theatre [from Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes]. Is Cristiano Ronaldo the best in the history of football?
“He is not even in the top five. Messi, Pele, Maradona, Cruyff and Ronaldo are on another level.”
This is not the first time Cassano – who played for Juventus and Real Madrid among other teams during his playing days – has taken aim at the Portugal captain.

During his time in Turin, the 39-year-old added: “Cristiano only thinks about his goals and records.
“He’s always been a bit selfish, he doesn’t give a damn about others scoring goals.
“He does not live for the game, he lives for the goals and in this moment the situation is getting worse.
“I think Cristiano has done terribly over the last three years.”
