Heading out this October Bank Holiday weekend? Here’s what the reopening of nightclubs will look like

Nightclubs and late-night bars are set to reopen tonight under Ireland’s reopening plan.

he return has been long-awaited by thousands of people who have not stepped foot in a nightclub in over 18 months, so grab those dancing shoes and find out what your night on the tiles looks like tonight.

Who can attend?

Only those vaccinated against Covid-19 will be allowed to attend indoor venues.

Will I bring my mask?

Yes. But people can remove their face coverings when drinking, dancing or eating.

What time is last orders?

Licensing hours will return to normal so people can enjoy later nights out.

Can I order at the bar?

People will be able to order drinks at bar counters again under the hospitality guidelines and socially-distanced queues at bar counters are to be allowed.

However, people will have to bring drinks back to their tables and will not be permitted to sit at the bar.

Most importantly, can I dance?

Taoiseach Micheál Martin said people will be able to dance in nightclubs. A maximum of 1,500 people will be allowed to dance or stand at live music venues.

And when will these current restrictions end?

It is understood that the restrictions announced today will be in place until February 2022.
