Cannabis stash worth £170k discovered by cops after pulling over motor on Scots road

Four men have been arrested and charged after officers uncovered a cannabis stash worth £170,000 after stopping their motor near Lockerbie.

Police pulled over the Toyota Avensis on the B7076 at around 5pm on Sunday, October 24, before searching the vehicle.

The six-figure sum of Class B drugs was soon discovered with the occupants of the motor were nicked by road policing officers.

The four men, aged 20, 26, 31 and 45, are due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Monday, October 25, to face drug charges.

Detective Inspector John Service, of Police Scotland’s CID unit, said: “This was a sizeable recovery and shows the good work and commitment of our officers to prevent drugs from reaching our local communities.
