Police hunt attacker after man seriously assaulted near new Bothwell playpark

Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted near a new children’s playpark in Bothwell on Friday evening.

The 35-year-old was attacked with a weapon as he walked on Blantyre Mill Road at around 6pm last Friday, October 22.

He required hospital treatment for a serious head wound and has been left badly shaken following the assault.

The suspect is described as a man of stocky build, around 6ft tall, who was wearing a green hi–vis jacket.

DC Christine McLanachan told Lanarkshire Live: “This incident resulted in the victim requiring treatment at hospital for a head wound and left him badly shaken.

“I am appealing for anyone with information about this crime, or the man involved to please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
