BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —–The Southeastern Conference cross country programs wrapped up the 2021 season Saturday morning at the NCAA Championships held at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.
The Arkansas men’s team recorded the highest finish of any SEC squad with a fourth place showing. Arkansas and Ole Miss registered top-10 finishes in the women’s standings with the Razorbacks coming in eighth and the Rebels 10th. The Alabama women and Ole Miss men placed 15th in their respective races, while the Alabama men finished 27th.
Alabama’s Mercy Chelangat finished runner-up in the women’s 6K with a time of 19:29.3. Auburn’s Joyce Kimeli (16th), Kentucky’s Tori Herman (17th) and Arkansas’ Lauren Gregory (19th) each registered top-20 finishes.
Three Arkansas runners placed in the top-17 of the men’s 10K as Amon Kemboi placed 12th, ,Gilbert Boit was 15th and Emmanuel Cheboson was 17th.
