I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! returned to TV screens on Sunday night, and while some celebrated the eagerly-awaited return of the hit reality show, others were left bitterly disappointed over the line-up
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! bosses faced the wrath of some fans on Sunday night, as they complained over this year’s line-up.
Viewers took to Twitter to vent their frustrations over the “unknown” campmates, with some disappointed to see an apparent lacklustre selection of famous faces taking part this year.
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have returned to host this year’s proceedings which are being held at the historic Gwrych Castle in Wales for the second year running.
The contestants taking part include former Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge, ex-BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin, music producer Naughty Boy, TV presenter Richard Madeley, Olympic gold medal-winning diver Matty Lee, Paralympian Kadeena Cox, football legend David Ginola, former Strictly judge Dame Arlene Phillips, Radio 1Xtra DJ Snoochie Shy and Emmerdale star Danny Miller.
But some have been frustrated over the campmates, and they confessed they didn’t know who many of the celebrities were.
“I feel like the celebrities for #imaceleb have gone downhill, ITV are broke,” one fumed.
“Feel like s**t, just want the 2018 line-up back,” another viewer wrote, alongside an image of the celebs, including Noel Edmonds and Harry Redknapp, from the show three years ago.
“When you don’t recognise any of the celebrities, but all the celebrities recognise each other,” one viewer quipped, as another agreed: “I still ain’t got a clue who any of these people are…”
“Who are these people???” a frustrated fan commented.
“The trial looks good. Maybe the budget went there instead of the line-up,” a disappointed viewer mused.
“Feel line up very poor this year compared to previous year, only two excited to see and really hope one of them wins,” another added, referring to last year’s series which featured Vernon Kay, Beverley Callard, Shane Ritchie and Mo Farrah.
However, others were excited to see the show back on the air, and were impressed with the line-up, especially the appearance of former football legend David Ginola.
“Can already tell David Ginola is gonna be my favourite this series,” one wrote.
“I’m not too over excited about the line up this year but we will see how it goes. When this is back on the telly, you know Christmas is on its way, I always associate watching I’m A Celeb while putting the Christmas tree up,” a fan shared.
“Great line up this year! Something good to watch for the next weeks!” another exclaimed.
“Got a feeling this seasons is going to be epic! Some strong personalities in there..its not going to be as cosy as last year…cosy as in friendships,” one viewer shared.
And others shared a similar sentiment, with one excited fan already predicting the outcome of the show.
“So #imaceleb is back & 1 show in, I’m obsessed. I’ve always had a soft spot for Richard Madeley (I know), Danny is going to overcome the most I think & then. DAVID. GINOLA. Come on, legend. Say no more. Also I’m howling at Snoochie she’s hilarious,” they tweeted.
