I’m A Celebrity fans notice change with this year’s trials

I’m A Celebrity fans have noticed a change with this year’s trials.

At least one celebrity has taken part in a challenge since entering camp at Gwrych Castle last month.

The majority of those trials did, however, go to Naughty Boy who took part in seven and won 52 stars for the camp during his time on the show after repeatedly being voted to take part by the public.

The DJ and music producer was the fourth celebrity to be voted off the ITV reality show earlier this week.

In the last week, however, it has been up to the campmates themselves to choose who will attempt to win a good meal for camp.

In recent days I’m A Celebrity viewers have seen Emmerdale’s Danny Miller and Coronation Street’s Simon Gregson take part in Christmas-themed challenge, Santa’s Grotty Grotto.

Danny was then joined by David Ginola for Drawbridge Over Troubled Water while Frankie Bridge faced a trial named Grim Grinder.

But fans think they have spotted a change in the trials compared to previous years – and think it could be to do with the new UK location.

Chloe Baker said on Facebook: “Is it me or are there loads of ‘gunge only trials’ and hardly any with bugs this year?”

“It’s all slime, rotten fruit and offas. No wonder the celebrities seem to get ill after on of these trials,” Angela Shaw wrote.

Samantha Dawson commented: “The trials this year have been more messy smelly rather than scary. I think the camp mates have had it easy this year.”

“There’s hardly any animal trials again this year always slime of off fruit and veg. I get it might be hard with the location so hopefully it’s back to Australia next year,” Holly Carruthers added.

However, during Friday night’s show Olympic champion Matty Lee took on the Lethal Latrines trial, a test of endurance set in a toilet.

The trial saw him end up covered in various critters while winning six stars for the camp.
