I’m a Celeb: Frankie Bridge gets smothered in snakes

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! fans were horrified by Frankie Bridge ‘s final scenes on the show.

Not only were ITV viewers shocked by The Saturdays singer, 32, only coming third during Sunday night’s live final, many were disgusted by the final trial she had to endure.

Before leaving the castle, Frankie and fellow finalists Simon Gregson and Danny Miller had to face one final trial in order to win a slap up meal.

With each star competing individually, Frankie was tasked with winning some tasty desserts for the remaining trio.

The challenge, dubbed Tomb of Doom, the Loose Women presenter was locked inside a tomb, which was then slid inside a chamber in the Gwrych Castle wall and filled with snakes, for ten minutes.

Viewers watching at home were “horrified” with the “hardcore” trial during Sunday night’s final show.

Getting into the tomb prior to the snakes joining her, the mum-of-two joked: “This is a trial in itself, nothing’s even in here with me yet.”

“I mean, I’m not loving life!” Frankie quipped as the snakes began to enter the tomb.

The star was soon left screaming during the challenge at one point screeching: “One’s going up my armpit!”

Things got darker, literally, as the lights went off for the final two minutes.

“Oh my God, it’s pitch black! My body’s never been so tense in all its life,” Frankie exclaimed as she endured her final challenge on the ITV show.

“How can people think frankie with 50 snakes is nothing!! #ImACeleb,” one viewer mused on Twitter during the segment.

“People claiming Frankie’s trial wasn’t hard, like she wasn’t buried alive with a f**k ton of snakes #ImACeleb,” another added.

A third praised the star, writing: “I actually don’t understand how this babe Frankie has sat in this box with 50 snakes for 8 minutes and is barely rattled, i’m about to faint for her??”

TV star Greg Scott used Frankie’s bravery as a chance to take a cheeky swipe at Boris Johnson.

“Frankie Bridge has just shown herself to be so comfortable in a room full of snakes, she is now favourite to be the new Prime Minister. #ImACeleb,” he joked on Twitter.

In order to keep her eye on the prize during the intense trial, Frankie kept reminding herself of the tasty dessert awaiting her if she successfully stuck it out.

“Apple crumble, apple crumble. I can’t believe that this is my life!” she repeated to herself as she spent time with the snakes.

“I can’t believe I’ve done it. I feel I can go home and I’ve ticked all the boxes,” she confessed once free of the gruesome tomb.

Even hosts Ant and Dec admitted it had been a tough final trial, telling the brave star: “That was hardcore.”
