Urgent search launched by police for missing 12-year-old girl not seen for days

An urgent appeal for help has been launched by police in a bid to find a missing 12-year-old girl who has not been seen in days.

Leona Peach from Devon has been reported missing and was last seen in the Hele Park area of Newton Abbot at around 9.15am on Monday, December 20.

Originally from North Devon, it is believed Leona may have travelled to Bideford, say officers.

Devon and Cornwall Police have now issued the appeal to trace Leona’s whereabouts, Devon Live reports.

In a statement, the force said: “Police are asking for the public to look out for Leona and report any sightings of her to them.

“She is described as white and of slim to medium build.






She was last seen in Newton Abbot

“She is approximately 4ft 9ins tall, has hazel-coloured eyes and has long light-brown hair which reaches the middle of her back.

“She has a bald patch above her right ear.

“Leona is believed to be wearing grey/blue leggings or skinny trousers with a dark-coloured fur coat and flip flops.

“She was carrying a pink bag.”

Police have also issued a photograph of Leona which can be seen at the top of this article.
