Anthony Martial to ‘squeeze’ Manchester United for January move and more transfer rumours

Anthony Martial is set to ‘squeeze’ the hierarchy at Manchester United to let him leave on loan to La Liga side Sevilla in January.

Reports from ABC Sevilla claim that joining Julen Lopetegui’s side would be Martial’s preferred move as he looks to cut ties with United when the window opens.

However, United has so far rejected Sevilla’s first offer of a loan deal worth €4million, with the Old Trafford club holding out for €10million, it is believed.

Despite seemingly being some distance away from clinching the striker as things stand, Sevilla are ready to enter a ‘classic tug-of-war’ in order to land their man.

Meanwhile Martial is said to be hoping that United ‘meet his wishes’ and allow him to leave in the transfer window.

Elsewhere, reports in Spain are suggesting that United are close to bringing in River Plate striker Julian Alvarez.

Alvarez has notched up an impressive 18 goals in 21 appearances and the Argentinian is able to leave the club for £17m, Sport reports.

Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan are all thought to be interested in the striker, however Alvarez’s preferred destination is Old Trafford.

The Argentinian’s agent is reportedly flying to England to get the deal over the line.

At just 21 years of age, United are thought to be happy to pay the release clause set by River Plate and the figure of £17m is non-negotiable.
