Manchester United ‘ready to agree’ to sign Barcelona forward and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly set to make their move for outgoing Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele.

Dembele released a statement after the reported United target was officially made available for transfer and told he must leave immediately by Barcelona.

The 24-year-old, who joined the La Liga giants for €105 million in the summer of 2017, is into the final six months of his contract.

Barcelona director Mateu Alemany announced that Dembele had been told he must go before the end of the January transfer window after a new contract was failed to be agreed upon.

And now, Sport have reported that United ready to agree his signing this month if Barcelona move to release him from the contract should no move materialise.

The pacy winger has had a rough time in Catalonia since joining for a club record fee just less than five years ago, managing less than 80 league games to due continuous injuries.

However, his raw ability has seen him linked with a number of European clubs.

Elsewhere, Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has given an update on his contract talks amidst rumours of a summer move to Old Trafford.

United have been linked with the German centre-back throughout the season, who has been an integral part of Thomas Tuchel’s defence since the manager joined last year.

Rudiger has become one of the better defenders in the league during that time, and still has several years ahead of him at just 28 years old.

However, he has given Chelsea fans a boost, stating he is happy in London.

He told Sky Sports: “I’m fully committed like always, down for the cause.

“At the end of the day, talks are between my side and the club.

“But I’ve always said that my kids were born here in London so that tells you that my family feels great here, but the rest is up to other people.”

Finally, Football Insider have reported that Jesse Lingard is not willing to sign permanently for Newcastle United.

The 29-year-old is set to become a free agent this summer, and has been frustrated with his lack of game time under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.

Rangnick told the club website: “He’s a really good player, I see that in every training session. For me it’s normal that other clubs like, for example, Newcastle show interest in him.

“I’m not the one who is dealing with that. I know there might be some interest from other clubs but if you ask me now what will happen in the next 10 days until the closure of the window, I can’t answer that question I’m afraid.”
