Grammy Awards 2022, il trionfo di Jon Batiste e dei Silk Sonic

Com’period prevedibile, i Grammy Awards 2022 hanno incoronato re Jon Batiste. La 64°edizione dei premi più importanti della musica si è svolta presso l'MGM Grand Garden Arena di Las Vegas, quasi due mesi dopo la information precedentemente annunciata (a causa dell'andamento della pandemia). 
Il cantautore, che partiva con undici nomination, non ha deluso le aspettative e ha conquistato cinque statuette, compresa la principale per Album of the Year (intitolato We are), oltre a quelle per Best American Roots Performance, Best American Roots Song, Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, Best Music Video.

Lady Gaga, infine, ha trionfato grazie a Love for Sale con Tony Bennett nella categoria Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, mentre Doja Cat e SZA hanno vinto nella categoria Best Pop Duo/Group Performance con il duetto Kiss Me More.

Se Kanye West, impossibilitato a esibirsi a causa dei suoi comportamenti on-line, ha vinto il premio Miglior album rap, sul fronte della musica rock i vincitori sono stati, senza pari, i Foo Fighters: la band ha trionfato vincendo tre Grammy per la Miglior canzone rock (Waiting on a War), Miglior album rock (Medicine at Midnight) e Miglior efficiency rock (Making a Fire). Il gruppo guidato da Dave Grohl, che avrebbe anche dovuto esibirsi durante la nottata, period assente (ampiamente giustificato), a causa della recente morta del batterista Taylor Hawkins, ricordato nel segmento In Memoriam attraverso la commovente efficiency di Rachel Ziegler, Ben Platt, Cynthia Erivo e Leslie Odom Jr. sulle observe di Somewhere e da Billie Eilish, che gli ha reso omaggio indossando una maglietta nera il suo ritratto stampato per la sua efficiency di Happier Than Ever. «Questo è il momento della serata in cui avrei dovuto annunciare i Foo Fighters.
