Emily Little-Pengelly of the DUP will face Sinn Fein’s John Finucane because the row over the Northern Ireland protocol continues. Also on the panel in Belfast tonight are Naomi Long of the Alliance Party, Peter Kyle of the Labour Party and Tory MP Robert Buckland. Last week, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss introduced plans to introduce new laws which might permit ministers to override elements of the Northern Ireland protocol – a transfer which has sparked controversy throughout the globe. Question Time viewers have expressed their anger on the ongoing protocol dispute on Twitter, with Mr R Cain tweeting: “The protocol is going nowhere”. Other customers savaged the Beeb over their incapability to ask hard-hitting questions, with one consumer, Ste Reid, tweeting: “It’s the biggest stage-managed fiasco on TV and totally devoid of any questions that might make the panel uneasy.”
